Extra Life 2019 Begins! Our Goals for Success

Updated:

Extra Life 2019 has begun, and it’s time to focus on new goals for this year. Although we are not overly popular, we still do what we can to help those in need. Hopefully, we’ll be able to do more this year. Are you ready to join us?

Remember, this is on top of the other charity work we enjoy doing.[template id=”145″]

What is Extra Life 2019?

Extra Life is a charity organization which donates its income to the Children’s Miracle Network. This goes to help places such as the Children’s Hospital in Denver, which is what we directly support here in Colorado.

And when it comes to the well-being, safety and protection of children, no money amount is enough.

If you’re unaware, Colorado Plays donates a minimum of 30% of its income to Extra Life. This is a base as we often donate more depending on the circumstance.

The rest usually goes to paying for hosting the site and other investments to help us along.

Goals for Extra Life 2019

In the past, we’ve been a bit lack-luster when it comes to performance. It all comes down to a severe lack of effort. But this year, we’re approaching everything with a renewed attitude.

And it’s going to be our biggest year yet. Which isn’t all that difficult to do since Colorado Plays was established about 10 months ago.

Still…

Gaining Twitch Affiliate Status

We have the number of followers to reach affiliate status in Twitch. Unfortunately, we lack the viewership. This is mostly due to not sticking with our schedule of streaming game play.

To do this, we’ll have to set up a constant schedule. It’s all about reliability and consistency…two things we lacked in the past. And to show our determination, we’ll start by streaming Sundays, Wednesdays and Thursdays beginning on January 6th.

How does this help Extra Life 2019? Remember, 30% of anything we generate automatically goes to the charity. That includes any donations, bit cheers, subscriptions and Amazon sales made from Twitch.

Plus, we are designing some fun things to sell from the Streamlabs storefront. It would be nice if we could generate a few sales from it to meet our donations goal.[template id=”505″]

Setting Up the YouTube Channel

We’ve been on the fence for a few months now about how to go about establishing a YouTube presence. We don’t want to have just another “let’s play” channel.

We want to be unique.

And that’s the rub. It’s hard to do something that thousands of channels are not already doing. Perhaps we’ll simply start by adding clips of Twitch game play to the channel until we figure it out.

Unfortunately, establishing a YouTube presence might not help Extra Life 2019. That’s because we’ll need 1,000 subscribers and 4,000 hours of watch time before the channel can be monetized.

However, we need to do something now if we want to help Extra Life in the future with YouTube revenue.

This all boils down to getting off our butts and doing it. And, there’s nothing to say we can monetize the videos with our own merch marketing.

Producing More Regular Website Content

Over the past few months, the content on the site has decreased to a crawl. Unfortunately, this is because of all the other projects that we’re involved in as well as the impact the holidays have.

We’re a small group and don’t really have a lot of writers available. Mostly because we can’t afford to pay anyone.

But with 2019’s new schedule, we should be able to get back into regularly publishing content on the site. Especially since there are a few games that are coming soon that we really want to review.

This helps Extra Life 2019 because of the money we make from the website. If there’s no content, there’s no visitors. No visitors equals no income.

And no income results in no donations to Extra Life.

Some of the things we’ll add this year is more reviews regarding losing weight playing the Xbox Kinect, expanding our “How to Stream” section and more Colorado fun.

This great state has more to offer than just legalized, plant-based past-times.

Expanding the Business Dynamic

We have some big plans for Colorado Plays in 2019. Expanding the business is a big part of it. And the more successful we are, the more we can help various charities including Extra Life.

This is what happens when your CEO is a philanthropist.

We’re keeping some of the plans under wraps at the moment. But rest assured, they…are…big.

If you want to stay in the loop, subscribe to the newsletter. Our subscribers are usually the first ones to know of anything going on with the brand.

Not to mention it helps us stay motivated to keep on task.

Our Goals in a Nut Shell

OK, so this next section is more for us than anything. Talking about meeting goals is one thing, but how are we going to go about meeting them?

After all, a $5,000 Extra Life 2019 goal is quite ambitious for a site that generated just over seven and a half dollars last year.

  • Streaming for at least 2 hours on Sundays, Wednesdays and Thursdays no matter what. Though, we’ll probably stream randomly in between those days. We simply don’t have the time at the moment to really get into streaming full-time.
  • Establish a YouTube presence and begin with clips from Twitch game play.
  • Create more than 88 articles this year – which is what we did in 2018. Our side goal is to have more than 33,503 visitors in 2019.
  • Grow the business…can’t go into details just yet, but we know what we’re doing.

Each one of these feeds into the overall success of Colorado Plays. And the more successful we are as a whole, the more we can give to Extra Life 2019.

Let’s Make Extra Life 2019 a Great Experience for All!

From our perspective, it’s not going to take much to beat our record for donations. In 2018, this site only generated $7.57. And right now, the website makes at least that much just in AdSense each month.

But, the children need more than just enough money to buy a coffee at Caribou or Coffee Bean. Let’s see what we can do to make Extra Life 2019 a banner year for us as well as Children’s Miracle Network![template id=”543″]
