Review of Dutch Bros Coffee: MMMM…Coffee

Most people that follow us on ColoradoPlays.com probably know Michael and I love coffee. As a matter of fact, it is a borderline obsession. So when my cousin told me we should try Dutch Bros Coffee, I was a little hesitant but I am game for trying anything once, so off we went to Dutch Bros Coffee.
When we hear people raving about coffee shops, we are very skeptical. Most people love and rave about Starbucks, but neither one of us like anything from Starbucks.
Here is what I think of my new favorite coffee spot.
Where is Dutch Bros Coffee
Dutch Bros Coffee has locations in Washington, Oregon, California, Idaho, Nevada, Utah, Arizona, New Mexico, and Colorado. Seeing as how we are ColoradoPlays, I will be talking about the 3 of 26 Colorado locations that I have actually been to.
Location one 6671 W COLFAX AVE LAKEWOOD, CO, 80214
This location is in the same parking lot as Casa Bonita. There is walk up or drive-thru options. The line was super long when we went on a Wednesday morning. However, we moved through very quickly and everyone was super nice and helpful.
Location two 15431 E 104TH AVE COMMERCE CITY, CO, 80022
This is a very new location. It is also located in a shopping center, so there is plenty of room for the line to wrap around when it is long. The line also moved very quickly and every worker I interacted with was very friendly.
Location three 10365 S. PARKER RD PARKER, CO, 80134
This location was by far the most difficult one to get into. Driving down Parker road, it comes upon you fast. There is a road you need to turn on to get into the Dutch Bros Coffee drive-thru and there is very little parking.
The line was going down the road blocking the entrance to the car wash next door. Again, the line moved very quickly. But, the whole location felt very awkward to navigate.
What is Dutch Bros Coffee
According to their website, Dutch Bros Coffee was founded in 1992 by Dane and Travis Boersma. Through the Dutch Bros Foundation and local franchisees, the company donates several million dollars to support its customers, local communities, and nonprofit organizations.
Something else near and dear to our hearts here at ColoradoPlays is working with local charities, especially ones for kids.
Why Should You Want Coffee (or Other Drinks) from Dutch Bros Coffee
First of all, it’s coffee…duh. I mean really, do you need a reason? My favorite is a large iced sugar-free Annihilator, which according to their menu, is a chocolate macadamia nut breve.
While I prefer iced coffee, Michael prefers it hot. Today, I got him a large skinny Amaretto latte which was so good.
Dutch Bros Coffee has a complete menu on their website. For those of you that aren’t a fan of coffee, they have many non-coffee items on their menu. This includes teas, lemonades, hot chocolate, and many more items.
Size, yes it matters… in coffee cups that is.
The large hot cups are 20oz, which is a pretty standard size and the price. For hot, the large cold cups are 30oz. Upon researching, in the same price range, you can get Caribou’s large 24oz iced or at Starbucks a Venti 24oz Iced.
That is 6oz more coffee for your hard-earned dollars. And more coffee, as long as it is good coffee, is always better.
MMMM… Coffee
How does Dutch Bros Coffee compare to other coffee shops that I frequent? This coffee shop has none of the nasty burnt coffee that you get from a certain other large national chains.
The coffee at Dutch Bros Coffee is smooth and creamy, and it gives you that wonderful coffee taste without being overpowering.
The other thing I love is the options for sugar-free flavors. So, when I am being good on my diet, I don’t have to sacrifice good flavor for low sugar or lower calories.
Dutch Bros Coffee also has a Keto Coffee that I haven’t tried yet but plan on trying next time I go.
A New Favorite?
Is Dutch Bros Coffee my new favorite coffee chain? Yes and no. I love Caribou, but Dutch Bros Coffee is the better choice for me if I am just looking to pick up some yummy iced cold brew. I get more coffee for my money.
The closest coffee shop is located the same distance from my closest Caribou, just in the opposite direction. So, I guess it will just depend on which direction I feel like going when I want coffee.
I guess the real question is would I recommend Dutch Bros Coffee to you? Yes. Yes, I totally recommend giving this brand a try.
