Extra Life 2022 is Just Around the Corner
Last Updated on October 31, 2022 by Michael Brockbank
Although 2022 hasn’t been the most stellar for us, we’re still excited to participate on Game Day with Extra Life. Between family issues and logistical problems, it hasn’t been the smoothest of years, but we’re still trying to get things rolling.
This week, I will update our running tally in the sidebar of donations we’ve generated from this website.
In any case, we plan on doing what we can to help drive some donations to our favorite charity. So, if you’re not doing anything the weekend of November 5th and 6th, why not stop by and chat?
What’s the Plan for Extra Life 2022?
As some of us still work odd schedules, we have to change our hours once again for this year. This time around, we’ll be streaming from 9 am to 9 pm on Saturday and Sunday.
For one thing, I’m getting too old and out of shape to stay up for 24 hours straight. Not to mention that one of us doesn’t get off work until around 4:30 pm or so.
Ah, the challenge of balancing work and hobbies.
In any case, the kids and I will be streaming both days for the 12-hour stretch.
I’m not 100% sure what games we’ll play this time around. We’re quite partial to Minecraft, Don’t Starve Together, and GTA Online. However, we’ve grown our libraries a bit over the past year.
Like every year, any money this website generates on Saturday and Sunday will be donated 100% to Extra Life the following Monday. It’s not a lot, but every bit helps.
How You Can Contribute to Extra Life 2022
First of all, you can always support Colorado Plays by donating directly to our Extra Life profile. Any donations to me directly during the Game Day are also given to Extra Life in its entirety.
Any AdSense revenue or commissions we make on this site from Amazon from November 5th through the 6th will also be donated directly to Extra Life. Even if you buy an eBook (like my book, A Freelancer’s Tale), it all goes to Extra Life.
Yeah, that was a shameless self-promotion.
What if you don’t have money to donate? Well, reading the blog and simply watching the live stream helps out tremendously. For one thing, getting a lot of viewers will help the channel appear higher on Twitch’s platform.
As for reading the blog, well, it’ll help us generate income through ads via AdSense. Not to mention how it affects the Google algorithm. So, feel free to browse any pages of interest we may have.
But I would really love to chat, should you feel like watching us. It can get pretty chaotic at times.
What Are You Doing to End 2022 with Extra Life?
Although we never really draw a lot of donations, we still do what we can to help out Extra Life. Especially since Children’s Hospital did a lot to stabilize my daughter during an acute asthma attack.
As a parent, it’s scary as hell to see your 4-year-old’s lips turn Pepsi Can Blue.
In any case, we hope to see you this weekend on Twitch. Even if you can’t donate, simply watching and interacting with us goes a long way.
